I know plenty about feminist, but I don’t need people telling me my opinion is wrong when this is what I believe in. You are an instigator, because earlier you jumped in trying to be captain save a hoe when you had no idea what the conversation was about. So don’t try to act all nice & concerned now. I’ve come to the conclusion today that all tumblr feminist are border line retarded.

im an instigator? when you called baptisms a bitch for just explaining to your why your perspective on the matter is flawed and how it perpetuates the problem at large? i mentioned earlier that it does nothing when you just get mad because you refuse to understand what she is saying and sit there and paint all feminists as ‘hating bitches who need da dik’ or ‘all feminists are retarded’
if you think that these women and men are only on tumblr actively trying to change things, think again. there are everywhere in the world. calling us all retarded and arguing with me calling me ‘captain save a hoe’ is just another reason why feminism exists.
however, derailing my initial argument with me is futile. like i said, i really suggest reading some informative articles as to how victim blaming is ineherently wrong- we shouldnt be teaching women to ‘not get raped’. this is essentially saying ‘do this so you dnt get raped but another woman or man does’. we should be teaching NOT to rape and spreading this message at large. slowly changing people’s perspectivves on the matter such as yours, paradox- matters even though you might see this at a smaller level. the second one starts questioning their original beliefs is a step in the right direction. it can be a potential catalyst for widespread change or just within their circle of influence in other relationships.

Rape is never acceptable in any form, nor is disrespect for women or abuse to women. I don’t know how it feels to be a woman because i’m a man but I was raised by women; I have 5 sister’s, i’m the only boy, & my mom was a single parent. It really annoys me when I see some feminist or women say it is acceptable for women to carry on any way & wear revealing clothing without an consequence for their actions. Thinking that way is delusional & ignorant. It just annoys me when I see women saying everything men do is misogynistic,no maybe you’re the person who has the problem with yourself. Sadly we live in a world with crazy & mentally unstable people so if you are a woman carry yourself with class, dignity, & respect & their will be far more people who respect you than those who will want to disrespect you.

i posted a comment on a submission titled “More equality for Femshep?” and apparently it was screenshot and made into a post on this site which has attracted a lot of attention.

i have received many replies following this, and many notes as well. Some of the notes were very threatening, and let me tell you that they do not help your cause and give me a harder time taking you “girl gamers” seriously. i have choosen to address all the female Mass Effect fans here, as it seems like the place where all this discontent came from.

Let me clarify:

Yes, i understand that there are female players who play console games. However these consoles games are produced by a mostly male industry, with a male audience in mind. Complaining about inequalities, as the creator of the deviation does, is rather foolish seeing how women are not the main audience.

It would be like me, a male, complaining that a nail polish company does not cater to me and calling that sexism.
Is it any surprise that Femshep has more same-sex options as the deviation pointed out? It just goes to show that even Femshep was mostly created with male players in mind. And i happen to see that as a good thing, not having to worry about the small amount of vocal feminist thugs, keeps the game designers focused.

It is part of life. Video games are produced by larger corporations, do you not think that they wouldnt do research on who their customers are? The reason things are the way they are is because of democraphic reality.

Lets use the nail polish analogy again. What if males began protesting the companies and they caved? They would only start bringing out more “neutral” colors to appeal to both genders, taking away choice from females, who were the target audience in the first place. This same thing is happening with video games when a company tries to appeal to women as well. For this reason i believe that women want to play more hardcore games, they should not complain about sexism in games and be aware that they are not the target audience, as they have not helped raise up the gaming industry from the start as much as dedicated men have.

Another example, the creator of the deviation linked to this “Save Thane campaign” on Facebook. If they have their way and Bioware caves to the female players, they will use development time to create Thane DLC (which would mainly appeal to women) instead on new DLC that is mainly for male players, and for the reasons i explained above, would be leaps and bounds better in terms of quality and would make more sense on a logistics standpoint.

So again i am sorry if people took offense with what i said on deviantart. i hope this made things a bit more clear, thank you for taking the time to read this and have a nice day.

Why does it matter

They’re making them a lighter color, not making them Caucasian.

In the society we live in, Caucasian women are also darkened. There’s a specific skin color that people think look best(in this society), and it’s not about changing race, more about trying to achieve that skin color.

It’s the same as slimming down and changing the features of a model.

It’s not about race. If it were about race, they’d do things like make her nose smaller.

Because, and maybe you’ve never noticed, race is more than a skin color. It has a lot to do with the structure of your skull. That’s why decomposed corpses can still be identified after the skin and hair and whatnot have all rotted away, leaving just the bones. You can tell the race and gender of an individual just by the skeleton.

Whitewashing isn’t much of an issue. It gives women who think too much into it an insecurity, but that’s about it. It’s not even whitewashing in this way, even. It’s about as much whitewashing, as tanning a Caucasian model is blackface.

You mean like how slimming models in magazines end up making many women gain eating and exercise disorders?

Either way, it doesn’t do much to yell at others for not caring much about “white-washing”(it’s skin-lightening, that’s the term… If you actually read the article you sent me… ), you should instead donate to organizations that are supposed to help women be more comfortable in their skin. Like that campaign Dove has.
